Getting Started
4 questions
The first step is a simple phone call — (949) 690-9990. You’ll speak with a member of our care coordination team who will listen without any pressure. We schedule a free in-home assessment at your convenience and can typically begin services within 24–48 hours — same day in urgent situations.
Yes — we have a minimum of 4 hours per shift. Beyond that, there is no weekly minimum. You can start with a few hours a couple of days a week and adjust as needs change. We are completely flexible.
No. We do not require long-term contracts. We ask for reasonable advance notice to discontinue services, but you are never locked into a commitment. Families’ situations change, and we want you to feel free to adjust services as you go.
Yes. Same-day placement is one of our strengths. Hospital discharges, sudden health changes, and family crises don’t follow a business-hours schedule. Call us any time — someone will answer — and we’ll do everything we can to get care in place as quickly as possible.
Services & Caregivers
4 questions
Our caregivers provide personal care and companionship — everything that helps someone live comfortably and safely at home:
- Bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance
- Toileting support and incontinence care
- Meal preparation and feeding assistance
- Medication reminders (not administration)
- Light housekeeping and laundry
- Transportation to appointments and errands
- Companionship, conversation, and engagement
- Alzheimer’s and dementia care support
- Supervision and fall prevention
- Respite care for family caregivers
Agape is a non-medical home care agency. Our caregivers do not perform skilled nursing tasks such as wound care, injections, IV management, or catheter care. They can remind a client to take medications that are already set out, but cannot pre-fill or administer medications. If you need skilled nursing alongside personal care, we can help coordinate with a home health agency.
Every caregiver is a registered Home Care Aide (HCA) with the California Department of Social Services. Before working with any client, each caregiver completes:
- Live Scan fingerprint background clearance
- TB screening and clearance
- Skills and competency evaluation
- Orientation to Agape’s care standards
We only place caregivers we would trust with our own family — that’s the standard we hold ourselves to.
Absolutely. If a match isn’t working for any reason — personality, communication style, skill set — just tell us. We’ll make a change, no questions asked and no hard feelings. Your family’s comfort comes first.
Cost & Payment
3 questions
Rates vary based on the level of care needed, the number of hours, and the schedule. We’re happy to provide a specific quote during your free consultation — no hidden fees, no surprises on your invoice.
Long-term care insurance often covers non-medical home care — we can work directly with your insurer. Medicare generally does not cover non-medical personal care. Medi-Cal may cover some services through the IHSS program. We’re experienced with insurance coordination and happy to help you understand your options.
We accept major credit cards, checks, and electronic bank transfers. We also work with long-term care insurance plans and can assist with billing and reimbursement. Contact us for details specific to your situation.

2 questions

Alzheimer’s & Memory Care
2 questions
Yes — memory care is a significant part of what we do. We match clients with caregivers who have the patience, consistency, and specialized skills that Alzheimer’s and dementia care requires. We take cases that many agencies decline, and we’re proud of the long-term relationships our caregivers build with memory care clients and their families.
This is one of the most common situations we navigate with families. Resistance usually comes from fear — fear of losing independence or of strangers. We recommend starting with a low-pressure introduction: companionship or a specific task the person actually wants help with. Trust builds naturally over time, and care can be expanded from there. We’re happy to talk through strategies during your free consultation.
